Location: Anclote River, Tarpon Springs, Florida
Fishing Conditions: Calm waters with light winds
Species Caught: Redfish, Bonnethead Shark
Tackle: 13 Fishing #Axum 4.0 paired with Green Omen heavy action
Report:
It was a great day on the water for Jimmy's birthday as the fishing was hot. We started out fishing the flats near the Anclote River and quickly found schools of redfish. Using live shrimp as bait, we were able to catch several nice-sized redfish throughout the morning.
As the tide started to change, we moved to deeper waters and began targeting sharks.
Within minutes of casting, we hooked into a bonnethead shark. The fight was intense, on light tackle and it took some time to bring the shark to the boat, but we were able to get a good look at it before releasing it back into the water.
