Rain, Hope, and a Great Day Fishing! fishing report coverpicture

Anclote River - Pasco, FL Inshore Report on 5th Nov, 2025 - 3

Today, I ran a charter for Thomas, his father, brother, and son. His son is quite a big deal, so we didn’t take many photos. 🤣 The day started off full of rain, and we really questioned if we’d be able to fish. I was getting bait, and then this happened... It reminded me that rainbows serve as a symbol of hope and connection between the heavens, the earth, and all living creatures. They remind us of the promise that, despite the storms we face, we can find assurance that life will continue and flourish after the storms we endure.

Fishing Report for the Tarpon Springs Area: fishing report coverpicture

March 15, 2024

Anclote River Inshore Report on 15th Mar, 2024

March is proving to be an excellent month for fishing in the Tarpon Springs area, with the red fish bite being nothing short of phenomenal! Anglers, like Angie and her family, are having a blast on the water, and her son Mason had an incredible day, landing an impressive over slot red fish measuring 29 inches.

The red fish action is on fire, with these powerful fighters providing anglers with thrilling battles. They can be found in various locations, including shallow flats, oyster bars, and mangrove shorelines. Using live bait such as shrimp or mullet, or artificial lures like soft plastics and spoons, has been highly productive in attracting these hard-hitting fish.

Angie and her family are not the only ones experiencing success. Many other anglers are reporting excellent catches of red fish, as well as other species such as snook, trout, and sheepshead. The Tarpon Springs area offers a diverse range of fishing opportunities, making it a paradise for both seasoned anglers and beginners.

To make the most of your fishing trip, it's important to stay informed about local regulations and obtain the necessary licenses. Keep an eye on the weather conditions and tide charts to ensure a safe and successful outing. With the fishing only getting better as we move further into March, now is the perfect time to head out and enjoy the fantastic fishing that Tarpon Springs has to offer.

Tight lines and congratulations to Mason on his impressive catch! Happy fishing to all!

🎣 Fishing Report: 1st Junior Viking Kids Fishing Camp 🌞

We are thrilled to announce that the 1st Junior Viking Kids Fishing Camp was a massive success! 🙌🏼 Our group of talented young anglers, including Jack, Brice, James, and Gabe, made the day unforgettable. Here's a glimpse of the amazing experience we had:

🔎 Targeting Bait and Cast Net Techniques:
Our primary focus was teaching the boys how to target bait and utilize a cast net. James, in particular, was determined to master the art of throwing a net, and boy, did he impress us all! 🎣 Practice truly pays off, and we encouraged the boys to keep honing their skills.

☀️ Hot Weather Adventure:
Despite the scorching heat, our fearless crew tackled the fishing grounds with unwavering determination. We started in 30 feet of water, aiming for key west grunts, red grouper, and more. The conditions were challenging, but our young anglers remained undeterred.
🦀 Cooling Off with Crab Trap Buoys and the Elusive Triple Tail 🌊
As the heat intensified, we decided to switch things up and cool off by hunting crab trap buoys in search of the elusive triple tail that Jack was determined to catch! 🌞 However, Mother Nature had other plans, and the triple tail proved to be quite uncooperative. Nevertheless, our spirits remained high, and we made the most of the situation.

🐠 Catch of the Day:
brice managed to reel in a stunning redfish before calling it a day! 🌊 The excitement was contagious, and the boys' sense of accomplishment was truly remarkable. We couldn't be prouder of their performance and dedication to the sport.

👏 Commendable Participants:
A special shoutout goes to Jack, Brice, James, and Gabe for their outstanding efforts throughout the day. Your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and positive attitudes made this experience unforgettable. We couldn't have asked for a better group of young men to spend the day with!

🌟 Unforgettable Experience:
The Junior Viking Kids Fishing Camp was a day filled with adventure, learning, and bonding. Despite the heat, the boys showed incredible resilience and eagerness to catch some fish. Witnessing their growth as anglers was truly rewarding.

In conclusion, the 1st Junior Viking Kids Fishing Camp was an immense success! i am  immensely proud of our young anglers and grateful for the opportunity to teach them valuable skills and instill a passion for fishing. July 3, 2023

Tarpon Sports Complex Inshore Report on 3rd Jul, 2023

🎣🌊 The Nauti Viking Fishing Report: A Memorable Day on the Waters with Kris and Family! 🌊🎣

We had an unforgettable fishing adventure with Kris and his family from Ga as we set out to "fill the freezer" with an abundance of fish! The day was filled with excitement, challenges, and a bountiful catch that exceeded all expectations. Let's dive into the highlights of our trip! 🐟🚤

From the moment we cast our lines, it was evident that we were in for an action-packed day. The waters were teeming with red grouper, and while we caught more than we could count, we made the difficult decision to release most of them back into the ocean. It was a true testament to our commitment to sustainable fishing practices. 🙌🌍

However, our efforts were not in vain as we managed to fill Kris and his family's cooler with an abundance of Key West grunts. These little fighters are affectionately known as the "Margarita Fish Taco Snappers" due to their delicious flavor and versatility in the kitchen. 🌮🍹 We are sure Kris and his family will enjoy many mouth-watering meals from their catch!

As the day progressed, the sun beat down on us, making it hotter than all get out. But that didn't dampen our spirits or enthusiasm. We persevered through the heat, knowing that great rewards awaited us beneath the waves.

We also had our fair share of challenges, losing some massive fish that proved to be quite the fighters. The thrill of the battle was exhilarating, even if we couldn't bring those fish onboard. It's all part of the excitement and unpredictability of fishing, reminding us to appreciate every moment and opportunity.

And just when we thought the day couldn't get any better, we ended the trip with an incredible 23-inch redfish. The vibrant colors and impressive size of this catch left us in awe. Kris and his family were overjoyed, knowing they had a prized fish to show off to friends and family back home.

Overall, it was a day filled with adventure, laughter, and a freezer full of delicious fish. We are grateful to Kris and his family for joining us on this memorable excursion. The Nauti Viking team is honored to have been a part of their fishing journey and look forward to welcoming them back for more adventures on the waters in the future!

Tight lines and happy fishing!

Gulf of Mexico Inshore Report on 7th May, 2023

I Had Dan and family out. The winds were tough. The choppy seas made it difficult to spot any fish, but we managed to catch a few decent redfish and a couple of snook. We also caught a few trout using live shrimp as bait. Overall, it was a challenging but successful day on the water. Our tackle held up well, with the 13 Fishing #Axum 4.0 paired with Green Omen heavy action proving to be a reliable combo. Despite the tough conditions, we had a great time out on the flats of Anclote River and would definitely recommend it to any avid fisherman looking for a challenge.

Tarpon Sports Complex Inshore Report on 8th May, 2023

We started our day early in the morning, launching our boat at the flats of Anclote River in Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Florida. The water was calm, and we could feel the gentle breeze on our faces. The weather was perfect for fishing, with light winds and a clear sky.

We started fishing with our 13 Fishing #Axum 4.0 paired with Green Omen heavy action. The bait we used was live shrimp, which proved to be an excellent choice. Within minutes, we hooked our first catch, a beautiful redfish. It put up a good fight, but we managed to reel it in. Adien was thrilled to catch his first redfish.

After that, we decided to move to a different spot. We spotted a school of trout, and they were biting. We caught several trout, and Adien's family was delighted to see the fish jumping out of the water.

We also took some time to do some shelling and site-seeing. We saw dolphins swimming near our boat, and it was a magical experience.

Anclote Anchorage Inshore Report on 4th May, 2023 - 2

Location: Anclote River, Tarpon Springs, Florida

Fishing Conditions: Calm waters with light winds

Species Caught: Redfish, Bonnethead Shark

Tackle: 13 Fishing #Axum 4.0 paired with Green Omen heavy action

Report:

It was a great day on the water for Jimmy's birthday as the fishing was hot. We started out fishing the flats near the Anclote River and quickly found schools of redfish. Using live shrimp as bait, we were able to catch several nice-sized redfish throughout the morning.

As the tide started to change, we moved to deeper waters and began targeting sharks.

Within minutes of casting, we hooked into a bonnethead shark. The fight was intense, on light tackle and it took some time to bring the shark to the boat, but we were able to get a good look at it before releasing it back into the water.
